He has been living in a Bhutanese Refugee camp with his parents and other siblings in Beldangai-1 since then. His father used to play madal and harmonium very well while they are in the exile. When he was kid he was inspired with the essence of the musical rhythm and melodies. At the age of ten, he started playing harmonium and Madal along with his father. With his great respect and enthusiasm to music, he learned to sing hymn at his early age.
Since 2004, he was very keen at playing and singing Bhaktaraj Acharya’s songs. He considered Bhaktaraj Acharya as his role model in Music. He slowly developed his Classical talents when he first met Kishor Siwakoti, one of the well known singers of Bhutan. He learned several Classical note and ragas from him in Beldangi- II, another refugee camp close to his camp. He received the music lessons from Mr.Siwkoti in the beginning in no monetary charge. After learning rags, he started to sing Hindi Hymns. He mostly preferred Anupjalota’s Bhanjans. Some people considered him as Second Bhaktaj, but his teacher always suggested him stick with his original voice instead of copying other singers’ style.
Meanwhile, he participated in Sunkosh-Tista-Mahakali, Bhajan-idol in 2007. His hard work proved him to be the Bhajan Idol winning all the competent singers from Nepal, Darjeeling, Sikkim and Bhutan.
